Sharon Cross-Coquillette was a teacher of students with visual impairments for over 35 years. During that time she had both developed new materials, including the popular Braille Too curriculum she co-authored with former colleague Nancy Lake Hepker in the 1990s, and adapted existing materials to use with her students. As she was easing toward retirement from full-time teaching, and the United States was implementing Unified English Braille, it seemed the perfect time to adapt materials to the new code and make them available to teachers throughout the U.S. and Canada. With that end in mind, she created BRL2 Publishing in 2015 and started developing her line of materials, beginning with UEB Too--A Supplement to the Braille Too Curriculum, followed by Six Dot Celebrations and then a total revision in UEB of the original Braille Too curriculum, called Braille Too: The Next Generation. In 2019 she released Proof Positive, a set of materials to work on proofreading and editing UEB.
